Baby rattle cupcakes. These were for a babyshower. I made 60 total and they were almost all gobbled up. I started making other designs as you can see by the one with squiggles but I thought they looked too Easter'ish.
When I was a kid my Aunt Chris would bake and decorate the most beautiful cakes, I was always fascinated by her talent. Fast forward to 2001, my daughter Piper's 1st Birthday, I wanted to make her a special cake, not buy one as I've always loved home made/decorated cakes over the store bought versions. Making her 1st Birthday cake solidified that I would eventually have to start honing my skills. I did take some Wilton decorating classes but I've pretty much been teaching myself, experiementing, making mistakes and even surprising myself on some of my projects. My long term goal is to keep practicing while I am home with my kids and when they finally enter school I'd like to make a run at designing/decorating cakes full time.
